Several entries on the Federal Communications Commission's database in the US indicate that Google is preparing to release another new Pixel device. The FCC refers to GWKK3, GHL1X and G0DZQ as 'Phone', which rules out the Pixel Tablet as a possibility. Currently, that leaves the Pixel 7a or Pixel Fold as possibilities, with Google not expected to reveal the Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro until the autumn.
In comparison, Google is thought to be targeting spring 2023 releases for the Pixel 7a and Pixel Fold, with its I/O 2023 keynote a likely candidate for the pair's showcase. Typically, Google certifies new smartphones with the FCC roughly a month before their release, as was the case with the Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. As such, it would appear that Google is looking towards March or April for GWKK3, GHL1X and G0DZQ, which would be a month earlier than last year's I/O conference.
